Gobelin # 3, Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Cologne, 2001
The landmarked glass facade of Cologne´s Chamber of Commerce (designed by Karl Hell, 1952) was completeley painted from inside with blue wallpaint. This layer became infringed by scratched drawing-like incisions, so that the glassfront – depending what time of the day – turned into a blue luminary, carved by numerous images. By sunlight the incisons project themselves as fine lightlines thoughout the building, at nighttime the complete enlighted work turns into a widely visible landmark.
